It is okay to feel disenchanted. 11/09/2020

Hello, I want to enchant you,

Disenchantment feels a little different for everyone.

Sometimes you feel sad. Sometimes you feel angry. And, sometimes you have no feeling at all.

To be clear, by disenchantment I mean you are not feeling Magick in your life. At times it may seem to flutter away like a butterfly never to return. I want you to know that is okay. Heck, even your beloved, newsletter-writing, haunted doll loving Witch gets a little disenchanted sometimes.

Surprising! I know 😉

The truth is, life can be a son-of-demon sometimes. And that is giving a bad name to sons of demons.

Because I see a little more disenchantment than I do usually, I wanted to use this newsletter to give you some tips on how to get out of that rut.

Going through the motions.

It may seem that sitting down to perform a ritual when you feel disenchanted is a mistake. Maybe it even feels wrong.

Trust me when I say, nothing could be further from the truth.

Sitting down to meditate, or perform a simple spell, or even a good cleansing will do you some good. Go through those motions even if you do not feel it.

When you do this, it makes your brain react positively to your actions. Have you ever heard that simply smiling makes you happy? The same principle works here.

Keep doing the same things you were doing before the disenchantment set in.

Let it have its time.

Sometimes these things come in phases. And that is perfectly okay.

Mood is like a circadian rhythm for some people. During certain months they feel on top of Witch mountain and others they feel like they’re using their broom to crawl out of a Magick-less pit.

So, let yourself have this time of disenchantment.

You are not always going to feel like you can kick off on your broom. Sometimes, you are not going to feel the Magick in your feet. If this is the case, it will likely pass. We do not get to feel positive without the negative close behind.

Modern advertising and propaganda has somehow convinced people that they should be happy 24/7. That is just not the case.

Take a look in your Magick mirror. Gauge your energy. If it is low, make a note of it. Then, get back to being a Witch.

Cleanse your space.

I know I mentioned this above in the “Going through the motions” section, but this is a little different.

Your disenchantment could come from a malaise of negative energy in your home. This can happen for SO many reasons. And, no, it does not mean you have a demon.

Sometimes, others can leave behind negative energy that sticks around long after you kick these negative people out of your house. Sometimes it can blow in like a wind. And other times society may be in such a bad place that the negative energy floats through the air like a pandemic (Ah-hem).

Don’t be afraid to do an extra cleansing. It may be the root of your problems.

Don’t be disenchanted by disenchantment.

Magick will outlast your bad mood. Trust me, I deal with people who put me in a bad mood a lot. And in that state, I do not feel Magick. I feel fury.

But as soon as I calm down, I feel the Magick flow back into me like a nearly dead tree drinking in the first rain after a drought.

Everyone deals with disenchantment differently. The point is to deal with it or ignore it. Don’t let it ruin your practice. Either go through the motions, let it pass, or do a cleansing. Whatever you choose, do not sit there and collect rust.

Magick wants to flow through you.

You just have to let it.

Love + Blessings

Laci
