Be Wary of Those Who Promote Fear

Dear You,

Just the other day, I was checking my message and I stumbled across this message (I also asked permission to use this in the newsletter):

“I’m scared I’m possessed. Can you help? The person tat [sic] told me I was possessed says I need a things [sic] that I can’t afford. Can you help me?”

Now, I’m not going to lie, I get a few messages like this a day, but this one was particularly egregious. You’ll see what I mean as we go one. You can also tell by their frantic writing that they are upset, scared, and at a loss at what to do. Normally, a few messages back and forth will fix situations like this. Not this time.

I told this person (who turned out to be very sweet, by the way) that possession is very, VERY rare. And if anything had happened, it was likely just an attachment.

She was not having it. She was convinced there was a demon gorging itself on her soul. She even mentioned she had not slept in two days because of this. Because she was so upset, I offered to do quick reading for her. This cost me a bit of money, but I knew this person had been lied to.

So, I did it, and guess what I found?

Absolutely nothing.

This is often the case with situations like these. Not only did I not find anything attached to her, but there also weren’t even spirits or entities around her. She was closed off, spiritually speaking. She told me she had never even experienced paranormal activity before.

Still, I couldn’t convince her nothing was wrong.

Eventually, I had to ask who told her she was possessed. And, come to find out, it was someone offering free “psychic” readings on the internet. Sadly, this was about the eighth time I’d heard this in 30 days. People offer free readings, tell people they’re possessed, and then tell them only this thing that only they sell will cure them of their ills.

As an aside, if an entity has possessed you against your will, it would not let you contact anyone for help. You would lose all free will and ability to speak your own thoughts. And, if you have an attachment—I don’t care how strong it is, there are super-easy ways to get rid of it with household items.

This is not a diatribe against people who offer free spiritual work. Most of them do good work and help others. In fact, there are people in the Mysticmagicks Facebook group who do just that. But some really do take advantage of peoples’ fears. And that is not okay.

Thankfully, after a full three days, I was able to talk this woman off the ledge. She started to understand the trick that had been played on her. Just to be safe, I recommended a few salt baths. Yesterday, she messaged me and thanked me for all my help; I mean, this was a three page thank you that warmed my heart like no other. And, she even adopted a spirit into her home last night.

It is moments like those that remind me that I love what I do.

Fear is an emotion that, when heightened, makes people easily convinced of something. It could be anything! If someone is in a position to persuade you into doing something and they mention anything that sounds scary or that you are in danger, I urge you to walk away.

Be wary of those who promote fear. Fear is not the state you should be living in. Sure, things do happen. But it is either so rare that it’s not worth worrying about or easily taken care of. Please, do not fall victim to this tactic. Your spirit is not meant to be fearful, it is meant to be brave. To be bold. To be free.

Love + Blessings,

Laci
